Neve ParitzkiJerusalem is home to the world's first bicycle tunnel in Israel.

The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique ride and hiking experience which is enjoyed by all.
The Kerem Tunnel, Israel's newest cycle tunnel, is inaugurated as part of a 42-kilometer cycle route that runs through the capital.



The tunnel links Nahal Refaim with Emek Motza.  https://www.makorrishon.co.il/mumlazim/524295/ The tunnel's southern entrance is located in Refaim Park below Ein Laban. The northern entrance is in Nahal Ein Kerem about half an hour away from the Kerem junction.

The opening ceremony of the tunnel which measures 2.1 kilometers long was held in Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’ev Elkin, Mayor Moshelion and Avi Baleshnikov (Gihon water company chairman) as well as a plethora of cyclists.

Elkin's Ministry as well as the Tourism Ministry budgeted the project.

Elkin stated, "The Kerem Tunnel project will be a central instrument in achieving our goal to change the notion of transportation in Jerusalem." "The tunnel is set to connect with the Jerusalem Ring Path. It will connect with the various cycling routes that exist within the city. They will be laid in its various areas. The goal is to promote cycling among residents of the city.

The Kerem Tunnel, originally excavated by the Gihon Corporation in the 1990s to relocate its main sewer line to the Sorek purification plant.
